this is going to be a project topic which is always offered to the toppers in lieu of a paper.the problem is that due to some personal problems and the very high expectations of my guide i am left with a very short span of time to complete this project and the topic is not yet decided.i require a topic which can be completed in a month with all the surveys done, the deductions and interpretations can be made within this period and yet it looks impressive.although there are a lot of topics but the problem is to get a short but impressive one.help.

Freud is a fascinating read. "I am actually not at all a man of science, not an observer, not an experimenter, not a thinker. I am by temperament nothing but a conquistador--an adventurer, if you want it translated--with all the curiosity, daring, and tenacity characteristic of a man of this sort" (Sigmund Freud, letter to Wilhelm Fliess, Feb. 1, 1900). A really good paper would be "Evidence or Lack of Evidence for an Unconscious Mind." Does the unconscious mind exist? Why would behaviorism completely ignore the mind? What is a symptom to a therapist? (Not what is a symptom!) Hint ~ a symptom is a handle with which the therapist moves the pot. The Narure of Resistance (Resistance is a client telling a therapist that he or she is moving in the wrong direction.) The client is never resistant, it is the therapist's lack of creativity, ignorance in forcing an issue, or just thinking he or she knows more than the client that causes resistance. What do all therapies have in common? (If you can come up with this one, you are probably ready for practice.) Psychological theories are magical kingdoms. The ideas and concepts of one such kingdom may not cross the boarders into another. Even when words are shared, the meanings of the words, the definitions of the words according to the theoretical assumptions are different. What are the goals of the various psychological theories. Are there theories wtihout goals? (Yes there are!) The goal of RET is Rational Thinking. The Goal of psychoanalysis is personality reintegration. The goal of reflective listening is to keep doing the technique.

I'd look at something you can do online, maybe with Yahoo Answers. For example, a lot of people ask about suicide online. You could study how many answers they get and the quality of the answers, based on how the question is phrased. Do questions where the asker seems whiny get nastier answers? If they're asking "for a friend" do they get fewer responses? You could also write the people where you can and ask if they feel they were helped by the answers.

Alternatively, a lot of questions seem to revolve around whether blind people "see" in dreams. I'd love to hear why the askers ask that question, why do they care?

Hope that helps.
