We were trying to work out the name of the following film:
Futuristic film where inmates all wear explosive collars - which are paired up. The catch being that no one knows who their collar buddy is. If one person tries to escape and gets too far from their buddy, then both collars explode?
Any ideas, or was my friend just making it up?! - We don't think its Fortress with Chris Lambert as they had explosives inside them, rather than collars.

I think the film you are looking for is "Wedlock" it's my brothers favourite film. And it stars Rutgar Haur (I think that's how you spell his name).

sounds like the movie was The Fortress. There was a follow up made also starring Chris Lambert called Fortress 2.

There was a battle royal two where the the kids wore neck braces that exploded if the went too far from each or if the partner died. It was on Film Four last month. Absolutely rotten movie. Not a patch on the first one. Sound like the sort of late night drivel that could easily be forgotton.

The kids are paired up in Battle Royale 2 - and the teacher shoots one of the kids to prove that his partner (a blonde girl with spiky hair) has a problem with an exploding head.
I only watched it a month ago

Well. its Not Running man, but I have seen a Promo for a similar Sci Fi film with a Caucasian, and an African American collared together ... can't place the actors in it

there are a few with this condition in the form the medusa / guild home entertainment. but battle royale would be the best bet.
I think there was one starring tim thomerson from the charles band school of movies

Yeah i think i can remember it. i believe it call - "wedlock". I know the film and seen it but who play in the role that i can't remember it! It so long time ago that film were shown on TV.

It isn't Battle Royale.... in that film it was everyboy/girl for themselves trying to kill each other. They were not inmates either, but naughty school children in uniform.

it would be battle royale 2 not the first one cause they aint paired in the fist one. in the 2nd one they are but they know who the partners are so it cant be that one
