I watched it about half way through and found it a painfully awkward movie. What disease does Diane Keaton have - breast cancer? Did anyone notice how bad Sarah Jessica Parker looks in the movie? The entire script was confusing...I felt like I had missed a part even though I had watched from the beginning. What does everyone else think? And if you like it, why?

Diane Keaton's character died toward the very end. I found the movie very hard to watch and stay with due only to the fact that I lost my Mother just one Christmas before I watched this movie.
Had I known more about the movie I would not have rented, but because I am a huge Diane Keaton fan I rented it. But, I felt it was a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Diane Keaton dis of breast cancer in the end and the very end it's Christmas the next year with everyone minus the mom. I thought it was a really great movie. Sarah J. Parker does look really bad though.

I liked the movie, but I really like Diane Keaton. The breast cancer part was hard to watch especially when they show what the breast looks like after a mastectomy, being female it hit me kinda hard that it happens all the time. Anyhow SJP looks like a horse so I doubt she could have looked good if she tried.

I liked it. I think some scenes w/backstory may have been left on the cutting room floor... or maybe they were leaving it up to your imagination. I don't think SJP looked bad, just the character. It's a nice movie about a family making it through disagreements, ackward situations, etc. Thats why I liked it... watched it before facing my crazy family =) during the holidays.

Kudos is going to the full solid of this amazingly candy, yet darkly twisted action picture approximately kinfolk relationships and the holiday trips. each and every individual in the solid makes this properly worth seeing, yet extra hollers visit Sarah Jessica Parker for no longer being Carrie Bradshaw and to Rachel McAdams, who as quickly as returned, performs a useful propose female. no longer purely are the relationships plausible (slightly smarmy at situations, yet no longer something overly nauseating), the unraveling of the story that happens makes this no longer fairly plenty the holiday trips yet approximately relationships, kinfolk and existence. Btw, can we PLEASE make useful Craig T. Nelson shows up in extra video clips? He and Diane Keaton have been amazingly plausible and that i merely adore this teddy bear of a guy!!

Sarah looks fine but she is such an uptight, unlikable character that she's not attractive, IYKWIM.

And it's hard for any woman to look good when she's sharing scenes with Rachel McAdams...
