unless and until its UNITY is firmly established.

What do you think of this statement? Does it seem logical?

Adversarial principles govern many of our social institutions: politics, the courts, business, and even many professional and social activities. To an even greater extent do adversarial principles govern the running of international affairs. When statesmen come together in international bodies such as the United Nations, it is almost axiomatic that their only concern will be what is best for their own country regardless of what effect this may have on the rest of the world. This combative approach is undesirable. Society should be regarded as an organism, such as the human body. The organs of the body are different from each other, and yet, for the body to function effectively, the various parts need to work in unity and harmony.

Most of the problems that the world faces (including environmental pollution, desertification, global warming, the gap between the rich and poor nations, and INSECURITY) are only soluble if they are dealt with at a global level. These problems will therefore continue to get worse until the world wakes up to this fact.

Your question is good but you left out one important point.
Firstly let me say that it does seem logical but in fact it is not because if you say that peace and security are unattainable
then at some point a nuclear war is inevitable.
THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE PEACE AND SECURITY MUST BE
ATTAINABLE OR WE MUST BEGIN TO THINK ABOUT THE UNTHINKABLE.Unity may never be achievable but peace and security have to be.

Utopia will never be attained on a global level. Peace is an unnature state to mankind. If you look at the history of the USA, it took a lot wars and deaths to obtain peace within our borders. Once obtained, it takes a great deal of force to maintian peace.
On a global scale, there simply isn't enough wealth in the world to finance peace on a worldwide scale. The best the world can hope for is pockets of security.
