I had a copper IUD put in a few years ago. No hormones, so none of the side effects of them... weight gain (I've actually lost a bunch of weight), headaches, health risks, etc. There is nothing to remember to take, no shots to make your arm sore for a week, nothing to interrupt the 'heat of the moment'.
It was a regular office visit at the ob/gyn office. Yes there was some cramping when it was first put in place, but other than that initially (which I was prepared for), there have been no problems.
The whole thing was covered by insurance.
Periods are back to where they were before I took the pill or depo years ago, normal - not light. But I am still much happier with my IUD than I ever was using the hormonal methods like the pill or depo-provera. I actually feel more clear headed and less moody.

i personally got on the shot it works well for me because i have a hard time taking pills and don't remember to take them. I think condoms are a waste of a great time. The shot only cost about $70 every three months you get lighter periods at first and then before you know it none and with shots when you need a new one you have 2 weeks to do it in its a lot less stress and you don't have to worry about condoms ruining the fun!!!

I can not stress to you how much you should stay away from depo provera...Look it up on google, see how many women it has caused problems for.....If you dont want the pill, you'll have to use condoms or an IUD

Use depo-provera. It's a quarter-yearly shot in your hip that will cease all your periods. But do some research on the internet first before you go to a doctor.

you can try the depo shot. she would only have to go to the doctor every three mounts. one of the side effects is she won't have a period until it time for to go to the doctor for her next shot.

I think you should get information on all possible methods like here:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/birthcontrol.html
Maybe an IUD will suit you?
http://www.4woman.gov/faq/birthcont.htm
Be informed that is the most important thing.
