I manage a couple of teams that do IT helpdesk work now - but 6 years ago, when I was 30 I went through what you are going through now.
My best advice is that if you have good knowledge of the industry and IT, and you can show you are dynamic, willing and capable of continuing further development that is a good start. Only one of my current staff has any industry standard qualifications, but what they all have is presence, and they are canny.
You might have to do what I did though - take a £15k a year pay cut to get on the bottom of the ladder, and use your contacts to drag your way up.

There are jobs out there that do not require any experience, plenty of IT and Tech support, maybe some programming jobs as well.
It will probably still come down to the qualification you have though initially.

I took some part time college courses. Even if you don't have any professional experience, a few qualifications and putting things like 'I built my own computer from parts' on your CV will impress employers. I didn't work for ten years after my children were born, but my amateur expertise and a handful of computer qualifications got me the first job I applied for.

I was "moving" pc's around 6 years ago and have been doing Desktop Support and web building ever since.
Was who I knew at the time as I knew SQUAT!
Now I'm in a position where I know 100 times more than my "customers" but still know 100 less than most!
Still.......will keep pushing that CV out!

It might seem that way but there are jobs out there that will only look to your qualifications and not only experience. If you are a new graduate try applying for graduate jobs if not look out for jobs which say 'will be ideal for your first IT role'
