Do you think there's something in sci-fi movies that's gonna be real in the future? What? And from the older ones: do you think that there are things already used that were predicted in the past for those movies? Be specific please :D Thank u*

Michael Crichton's sci-fi concepts are actually some of the most plausible, and the most based on actual current research.

HIs ideas about cloning extinct animals have actually been proposed as a way to bring back species from the Wolly Mammoth to the Dodo.

The wild stuff, like intergalactic instantaneous travel, teleportation, energy weapons that vaporize the target without damaging anything around them, lightsabers, and stuff like that will probably never happen. Thise ideas belong more to the realm of fantasy than to science fiction.

An interesting note-- In his book "Padme of Mars" Robert Heinlein made a big deal out of a scene where a character pulls a small piece of equipment out of a pocket that turns out to be a personal phone. Heinlein worte the story in the 1950's, early 60's, and e thought we'd transform Mars into an Earthlike planet before we'd develop cell phones!

While I can't speculate on what will really come to pass, I know that Gene Roddenberry and everyone else who has worked on the Star Trek movies as well as all the different TV series use real science to come up with some of their ideas, and if I remember correctly there are a few ideas that were first used in a Star Trek episode that are now a reality in science and technology. I do not have any specific examples, but here is the Star Trek official website:
