find a local class, jive or if you can't find jive try ceroc www.ceroc.com I think is the website you need. Also remember these basic rules of any type of partner dancing. Make your partner feel important. To do this you need to make plenty of eye contact, do not look at your feet or around the room. Learn how to lead. she doesn't know what you want her to do unless you demonstrate it, this takes a bit of practice with every new partner as everybody leads or responds differently. Nobody apart from you knows what you planned to do on the dance floor so if the move doesn't go quite as you imagined don't stop and say "oh no I meant you to do that" just move on. Most dance classes will teach you figures or set moves but your dancing will be much more fluid and interesting if you think in terms of moving from one position to another in individual steps that way you won't get bogged down in remembering a sequence of figures.

Most importantly, enjoy yourself, it's supposed to be fun rememeber..........oh and don't chew gum, that is revolting!!!

There are two extremely important things to keep in mind:
1. In partner dancing, it's your job to make her look good, and if you try to impress her by showing her your stuff, it'll backfire. Never outdance your partner.
2. The only way to dance jive well is to take professional lessons. There are no shorcuts that won't wind up cutting your throat if you're trying to impress the lady. Your frame and lead are everything; your "moves" are nothing--see (1) above.

If you want to learn you either have to take classes or, being an experienced dancer as you say, you will need to get an instructional DVD. If you have a friend who can teach you ask him/her. I don't think there is any other way, magic doesn't happen. You can find classes here http://www.ballroomdancers.com as well as short videos of basic steps. You can find DVDs here http://www.dancevision.com or see if your library has any.

You don't jave much time - get off the internet and start dancing.
