You don't "Need" a greenhouse, however it is useful. It will allow you to get your seedlings started earlier allowing you to put sturdier more developed plants into the ground at the start of the planting season. With the right type of greenhouse its possible to keep some crops growing year round.

I have friends in the U.K. and they have a nice garden. Yes you can grow all kinds of veggies, but If I were you I would start small . Start with tomatoes 1-2 different kinds, try cucumbers although they do spread out, plant the types of fruit you like best, remembering that some fruits and veggies do not like all areas because of the climate in your location, ask someone in your area that has a garden? What they grow, don't worry about a green house just yet, try gardening first then maybe you might think about a green house. Remember gardening is a lot of work but it also has a lot of rewards, not only will you get veggies but you will also get a lot of exercise. Presently or grandson living in Germany raised a garden last year and had good results. Fruit is another matter, it requires knowing what will do well in your area. Best of luck in gardening. and Happy New Year everyone, From just an old man who loves to garden.

No you don't need a greenhouse but would help,a conservatory could be used instead,or even your kitchen window ledge, you could grow seeds in trays or pots then when strong and large enough transplant them to the garden, make sure the ground has been prepared properly, and the right type of fertiliser used. Also Cloches can be used to protect plants against the frost. Good luck.

Presumably just buy the seeds of the vegetable you want to grow. Beans for instance need to be grown around a stick (or 'cane' as its called). Fruit takes a longer time to grow then vegetables, but it should be easy enough to purchase a small apple or pear tree. There are obviously many fruits that you can't grow.

I really like both fruits and fresh vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

If perhaps it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.

Here in LA we have a lot of sunshine. So I like to grow a lot of herbs such as parsley, sweet basil, mint(peppermint not spearmint), stevia, tomatoes, grapes, etc. Don't have a lot of space, so mostly I use pots. I Cr 13;8a

I used a small plastic greenhouse to start things off, had a bumper crop of tomatoes after starting them off in it. Growbags are great for growing things on patios.
