As you know, I've never been further north than the end of the garden - however I hate not answering your questions, and no one else has answered sensibly - so found this for you (which may or may not be useful).
Ten things to do in Sheffield
Spend a sunny afternoon in one of Sheffield's parks and gardens, including the Peace Gardens in the city centre, where you can cool off by running through the fountain, and the Botanical Gardens near Ecclesall Road
Watch sports at some of the city's world class facilities, from athletics at Don Valley, to ice hockey at Ice Sheffield, swimming at Ponds Forge, or World Championship snooker at the Crucible
Or if football is more your thing, decide whether you're going to support Wednesday or United and stick to your decision religiously, even if they get relegated
Catch a Supertram. The trams run to (the M-word) and Crystal Peaks shopping centres, as well as Hillsborough and out into the Sheffield countryside. A great way to get around the city.
Speak the language. Call everyone 'love' or 'duck' (even men call each other 'love' in South Yorkshire) or replace the word 'until' with 'while' in your conversation, e.g. 'eight while nine'.
Check out the night life. See live bands at City Hall or the Leadmill, go drinking down West Street and Division Street, or go dancing at super clubs Gatecrasher and Kingdom.
Visit the Peak District, without even having to leave the city. Just a bus ride out of the city centre you'll find Millhouses boating lake, Ecclesall woods, and the picturesque village of Dore.
Visit Sheffield's Cultural Industries Quarter. Recognised as one of Europe’s major regeneration successes, it is home to the largest concentration of creative production in Yorkshire and includes The Showroom cinema and art studio S1 Artspace.
Discover Sheffield's heritage. Sheffield is well known for it's industrial past, you can find out how it all began at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and Kelham Island Museum, or visit the metalwork exhibition at the Millenium Galleries.
Buy a bottle of Henderson's Relish, Sheffield's answer to Worcestershire sauce. Famous fans of the Sheffield sauce are said to include Sean Bean, Peter Stringfellow and Def Leppard.
(It's advice to the students of the university, in case you're wondering).

Why Not go to Sheffield University Students Center(Close to BAR ONE / Firth Hall) and Locate the Web Cam.
When you've done that, why Not try a IRLP Link Communication with your HT and have your self a FREE VIDEO CONFERENCE!!
