Normally I'm not a big fan of college coaches making the move to the NFL, because history has shown us they are usually not successful. However, Petrino does have NFL coaching experience, and made Louisville one of the national powerhouses (they'll have the talent to win the NC next year...if Brohm comes back)

I don't think he'll take the Falcons to the SB, because you can't with a team that has Michael Vick as its QB...but he'll do better than Mora

My thoughts? Very risky! Its plain and simple NFL players are very much different than college player. It takes a completely different kind of motivation.

Aside from that this guy has been through more jobs than any coach should rightfully be able to. If you think he is the answer for Mike Vick, remeber the best quarterback Petrino is credited with developing is Jake Plummer!!! Petrino seems to be bored with jobs after 2 or 3 years 4 at the most, so don't be surpirsed if he leaves Atlanta high and dry before the contract is up! He did just leave Lousiville 5 moths after signing a 10 year deal with them!

I get sick of hearing people saying that Vick is a coach killer, when are people going to realize that Football is a team sport If Petrino can pull the team together then good for him. I think that he has his work cut out for him. Not only with Vick but the "team" it self.

Yes I am a Falcons Fan...Longer then Vick has been in the League.

before everything, i might want to take Petrino's attitude over stupid Alge Crumpler's any day. no one would have saved the mess that Mike Vick created for the Falcons this three hundred and sixty 5 days. It make take yet another three hundred and sixty 5 days or 2 to accurate the deliver. supply Petrino 2 more effective years and be conscious what he has carried out then. i imagine he needs to eliminate a number of those gamers and commence sparkling. every person who's already bitching about their coach very few video games into his first season needs to flow.

If there is an NFL team out there that could run more of a college offense, it's the Falcons. That's what they tend to do sometimes anyway, & hey, if it works, why not? I believe that's what Petrino will be able to do.

If he can get Vick's passing game to work he will be very successful. He is a good coach and I wish him well.
