Good job you cleared the issue, talking about wild cats, not the domestic tabby...

Let's say... a Lynx against a Rottweiler, It would be an equal-ish contest.

Let's consider the following factors...

The cat has the following in its favour...
agility,
claws,
speed,

The dog has the following in its favour...
jaw strength,
overall strength

Cats tend to claw and spit, dogs tend to bite, to state the obvious. the dog has one mouth, whereas the cat has 4 legs with 5 claws on each paw.

So it's a question of the quantity of damage as opposed to quality of damage. the dog would inflict serious damage, but so would the cat. the cat has speed and agility in its favour... but ...

I'll be here all day. I'd go for the draw.

No. the cat has 3 things in its favour. the dog only has 2.

CAT

i sure hope your not a sicko that should be shot . if your thinking of trying to see if a who would win a fight a cat or dog then i hope well i hope you don't do that .
most would think that a dog would win a fight between a cat and dog. i am sure that if even if they are about the same size that could happen. A cat is far more likely to win a fight with a dog of the same size because a cat uses its claws and mouth to fight.
when a cat really wants to hurt some one like the veterinarian
which happens some times because the cat does not want a needle or something the cat is fast and can really hurt the vet.
The vets. have told me a few times that would much rather give a big dog a needle then a cat. they told me that the cats scratch is much worse then a dog bite for them . they said the cats scratch can be very deep and they get infected easily as the cats
carry a germ that does that. the vets also tell me that cats are much faster and more dangerous fighters then a dog .
so it would seem logical that a cat would win a fight with a dog of the same size because if a human that knows all about animals like a veterinarian would rather fight the huge dogs then a cat he knows what he is talking about for sure.

I know of a large, aggressive dog with one eye.

It stays well clear of the cat next door these days!

Cats are formidable fighters, and the bigger the cat, the more the damage.

Look at the damage a cat can do to your hands.....and that's your pet playing with you, not trying to rip you to pieces.

Cats are incredibly fast, and they can move quicker than a dog can react. Don't mistake the cat that runs away from a dog as an inferior. When it comes to fighting as a last resort, a cat can look after itself.

How many chewed cats do you see lying dead on the streets?

Lastly, dogs tend to hunt in packs in the wild, whereas cats kill alone, very effectively.

A cat might win maximum the cases Cat are much less replaced with the aid of human selection, are closer to the wild root, and have greater agility. A cat can bounce greater. And the claws are a infamous income. Wolves have greater power, resistance, and may well be working greater time. Wolves hunt in herd, employing some communique and cooperation. If we study the African savanna, lots of the predators are cats: lions, cheetahs, leopards. The African Wild dogs is virtually the only effective dogs's specie interior the savanna. whilst i became a infant I observed a combat: a mid length dogs (50lb) lost a watch interior the initiating of the combat with a typical cat (20lb)

Overall, the dog would win (Strength and jaw power), but the cat would inflict many scratch wounds, so the dog won't be unscathed in a fight. The dog would win though.

I'd go with the cat - I've seen a domestic cat scare a young Rottweiler by swiping it on the nose. The jaws of a large dog may be sstrong, but he's gotta catch the cat first, which has much more speed and manoevrability on it's side.

Cat for sure!
Cats can jump (on the dogs head) and go for the eyes... its all over from there, the dog doesnt have any chance.

i dont know it might end up with the cat winning because theyre more agile and faster and it could jump in the dogs back and start scraching the hell out of it

Think the dog would as his jaws are more powerful but the cat would inflict more wounds so the dog may slowly bleed to death......why do you want to know??
