My beloved Mother is 83 and is one of the nicest, smartest, funniest people I have ever met. She is "happening". She is planning another trip abroad in May. She said she better go before she "gets old"! lol It has been my experience that however a person is when they are younger (meaning happy, grumpy, etc) is how they will be when they get older only more so. My mother is always helping others, continues to exercise her body and brain, and is quite active in our community. Mom is president of several organizations including her Sunday School class. She says she likes to help out the "older people". LOL She is too funny and everyone adores her!

My son's father-in-law, he's 96, an ex sailor and he has a wicked sense of humour. He is not a bit grumpy but very forthright. Don't ask him something unless you really want the truth!

My great nan was 102 when she died in 2001. She was truely inspirational, sharp witted, wise and fabulous! She didn't think of herself as old and was surrounded by friend and family. She even had plans to go hot air ballooning for her 103rd birthday, sadly that didn't happen, but it was the fact that she still wanted to that is brilliant.
People of my generation, in their 20s don't have as much passion for life as she did.

My Nan, she's 90 and fabulous! She can still do the Telegraph crossword, we have similar likes, we have even been on holiday together. It's real shame she can't walk any distance anymore, and has to take a wheelchair - but she is one of the best people I know.
