Any DVD or video of 'Nutcracker' will show the waltz. The general idea is that a few girls run on, representing the beginning of the snowfall, then others join in as the snow falls more thickly. There is constant movement & shifting patterns. The general mood is 'otherworldly & magical.' It's the overall effect that matters, not individual performances, so relax & enjoy the opportunity. You are representing snow, so no acting or personality is required - you are a corps de ballet. You will all need to know exactly where you are going at all times. It's quite a long piece - about 7 mins - so you will need stamina. Sometimes something representing snow falls from the flies that helps to create the effect. There is also a chorus of voices to add to the effect. Good luck with your production.

That's a great part. I was also in the Nutcracker this year. It really depends on where you dance at as to what your part will be. At my dance acadamy, it is different than the SF one or OAK one.

Nutcracker is a classic ballet, I'm sure you can borrow a DVD or a VHS from your library.
