the average life span for a hamster is 2-4 years. It really depends on the hamster. I've had some live for almost 4 years, and I've had some live only a short 2 years. the average age of all of my hamsters was right in the middle, so about 3 years I'd say.

Average lifespan is about 2 years. It could be longer with optimum care. (i.e. clean cage, fresh food and water daily, etc.)

2-4 years for a regular one, 1-2 years for a dwarf. as long as they eat well and have a clean cage, don't fall or get accidentally killed by someone, they go into shock and die if a human hurts them they fare better against their own.
