But... WHY?! Wikipedia is supposed to be as good as the Encyclopedia Britannica! I mean... aren't UFOs real...? It says so in Wikipedia!

I think it's brilliant that they did not award you your degree. Anyone who cites Wikipedia, especially for a dissertation, should not hold a doctorate.
Don't be so lazy. Books are good.

UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object, which could encompass any object that is flying and has not been identified (yet). Sarcasm is proverbially described as “the lowest form of humor but the highest form of wit” (a quotation sometimes ascribed to Oscar Wilde, but untraceable).

Makes me wonder what your major was. It would seem (at least to me) that it might be more of the subject matter as opposed to the citations you used.

You could appeal, but maybe next time.. pick a subject other than UFO's.
