I haven't done a nursing interview myself but know from my friends experience. she advised me that after an entail interview of herself she was grouped with others and given a scenario.

In order to prepare for you one on one interview you are best visiting monster.co.uk although this an employment websites it has lots of hints and tips for interview skills.
Remember to dress professionally, and being a woman your probably best wearing a knee high (or just below skirt) I know this may seem sexist but it will make you look professional (as many of the interviewers maybe old fashioned). Try and keep and open body language such as sit up straight slightly forward of your chair as sitting back will make you look uninterested.

You should revise current NHS topics such as the new proposed A&E plans where only major accidents will be treated and smaller minor injury units will be opened.
M.R.S.A, stem cell reserach, and the euthenaisa are also hot topics they may ask you.

Try and use examples of team work, if you havn't been employed before try using examples such as school teams or charity work.
Nursing is a profession which requires good intre-personnel and soft skills so try as amny examples of care in the community, if you have'nt got one well quickly sign up for one this will give you lots of browny points.
If they ask you about any part of your past or people never bad mouth anyone this will give a bad impression. If you have to give a constructive critism or say you are going to give a constructive crticism.

If your neveres are really bad you may try smelling salts, or clams these are over the counter so you will be best off consulting a pharmasists.

Remember most interviewers want people on there course, if your credetails wheren't there they wouldn't of offered you an interview in the first place. You have passed the first part by doing a access course so there shouldn't be any questions they could ask you couldn't answer. There on your side

First of all do contain yourself.Be more confident . How?
Go through the course description where you will get everything that you have to know about nursing studies you wish to undertake.
Also most probably you may be asked why have you chosen to pursue studies in Nursing?
What has made you choose this subject?
Any experience in the field.
Try to imagine you were the interviewer-- what questions you would have asked prospective candidates.
Any interview can put you in stressful conditions but take it easy.
The day of the interview, dress yourself comfortably and have your breakfast as usual and do not panic for nothing --Everything will go out well. Remain confident and know your subject well.
Best of luck!

Part Three:” My Fate and Interview”
I entered in the interview room with an expensive suit on me and my brain filled with confidence and smugness of pride (because of suit, not on myself). But it took a few minutes. Why and what took few minutes; you will know in a few minutes.
As I reached for the chair, I noticed only one thing. The heater was on full throttle. And heaters here in Pakistan burn natural gas on ceramic plates at the spot, unlike the water heaters or oil heaters. One of the interviewers told me to sit and I obliged.
The Dean of the Department of Media Studies was sitting on the left and looking at some files. In the middle, the teacher was a retired colonel, I knew him because he lives in my hood. On the right side, there was a female teacher, who was the famous’ confidence killer (The interviewees before me were responsible for her fame).

Ok, First Question By the colonel: How would you define communication?
I told them that “the exchange of information between the one, two or more persons is called communication.”

Then I wanted to add some more information on the subject of communication because I stated that one person can also communicate with himself i.e. communication between Inner self ant outer self of one self. But I found out that I am having difficulty to breathe.
(Without a pause firing continued, immediately after I closed my mouth)

Next Question By the Madam: What is journalism?
I begin the answer:” Journalism….ah……is…aaaaaaaa…. (I forgot every thing but managed to answer) is transporting and publishing of news.”
In my view it isn’t a proper definition. On hearing this Madam made a surprised face. I knew that I am in trouble but without a pause they asked next question.

Next Question By the Madam: Why you want to be a Journalist?
I tried my best to answer but the heater was full, the room was full, my nasal cavity was full, my lungs were full, my brain was full, and my face was full.
Heater was filled with flames, As it was burning gas the room was filled with carbon mono oxide (CO),I had cold so my nasal cavity was filled with mucus, my lungs were filled with CO, my brain was filled with blood in order to catch fresh oxygenated blood and my face was filled with silliness.
My nose was closed because of cold and there wasn’t enough oxygen in the room and I was totally perplexed that what should I do first, Breathe with my mouth or speak with my mouth. Or try not to do any thing and save some oxygen in my blood to keep thinking. My splendid confidence was shattered into a million pieces.
I started the answer,”Actually…” pause,” its a….” pause,” MISSION for me”
Madam exclaimed in disbelief and repeated the word “MISSION”. That answer surprised even me because I learned one thing from professionals that, “Greed Is the Greatest Motivation of All”. Professionals in my country always advise that wherever you go for a job or interview, don’t use emotional sentences and stick to point. I also knew two dozen of my buddies who went for the commission in the army and failed in the interview because they wanted to serve and wearing uniform was their mission. But the arrow had already left the bow.

Next Question By the Madam: Why its your mission?
I babbled, haggled and stuttered. I told that I want to fight against the social evils and Pen is Powerful than a Sword. I also told her that important thing is that the Journalists are the ones who always wrote the first (and rough) draft of history.
At this moment, I was sure that the oxygen analyzer of heater is not working and lack of oxygen or lack of self-belief made me quietly cruse my mannered friends who were responsible for my cold. I started to hallucinate. I looked up in air to pray God but I saw carbon mono oxide molecules hanging in the air, they were black in color and had devil horns on their heads. They were laughing and singing “Got you, got you this time again.”

Next Question By the colonel: Ok, Can you tell us a good joke?
This non serious question meant that they are done with me. I thanked God that this is going to be over. I was happy that this embarrassment will be over soon. After all I was a Bachelor level student. But I was behaving like a school student. Those were the most shameful moments of my student life. I wanted to tell them a joke by Tom Hanks in the movie, “Catch Me If You Can”. That joke was like this.
Knock, Knock!
Who is it?
Go **** yourself.

But because I still had some hope and brain power to think, so I told them that I can’t remember any joke at this moment.
The Dean spoke for the first time and said,” You can leave”
When I came out, all the guys were astonished that I am out in just six minutes. They asked what happened and I put a fake smile and shouted that I am in the program and the entire faculty was very impressed.
I planned this interview for a week, prepared all the definitions and answers. But this thoroughly planned day was gone awry. Before that day I never experienced a panic attack in my life. Its not important thing is that everything went wrong and unplanned. But the important thing is, despite of all that, I got the seat in Master’s Program. LOL
