If you have followed hockey before the league expanded 40 years ago, have you ever seen the Flyers do this poorly? I started to follow them after they won the first championship in their history so I really don't know.

I'm sure glad the Eagles are doing good, the Sixers traded The Problem, and the baseball team...ahh let's leave them out of this, they don't deserve to be mentioned as a professional team.

Your picture says it all...

Even after Clarke admitted he was drowning Snyder was shocked to get his resignation...

Both Ottawa and the Flyers got off to bad starts with good coaches. Ottawa stuck with theirs and they are now in fifth. Flyers fired theirs and...

Ownership there is too hands on.

In two words... "rebuilding year(s)". It seems like Philly is going through the same problems Pittsburgh had been over the past few seasons. Philly's got a few legit players, but they're not a very deep team talent wise. The defense has been simply outplayed and outmatched most nights. Like Pittsburgh, a few seasons worth of high draft picks should turn things around, but I wouldn't expect the Flyers to be in playoff contention for awhile.

The Flyers need to start over, flat out rebuild. What they have isn't working. As for their history, they are on pace for their worst season ever.

Watch out for the Phillies, though. If they are able to get a couple quality arms for the bullpen (and an excess of starting pitchers gives them an advantage in trade talks), they could be quite good this upcoming season.

I am a huge Flyers fan. I still watch every game and I can honestly say that I never expected the Flyers to be even close to near as bad as they are. They are absolutely horoble. They have no heart unless Foresberg is playing and they are lucky if he'll play half the games this year. I think Philly is a cursed city.

Well i'm from Pittsburgh and I am not a Philly sports fan, but the Steelers are done so I will root for the next best think, and that is for the Eagles to win the Super Bowl.

Bad front office decisions from Clarke to Snyder.

I think it all started going downhill when Clarke was switching Hextall and Snow in the '97 playoffs. Afterwards, the Lindros fiasco didn't help build or maintain a trust between management and players.

Nowadays, with the new NHL w/ salary caps, I think you will see teams cycle from worst to first and first to worst quite often.

My $.02...

It certainly is a tough year, I still hang most of the problems on Clarke trying to recoup his days of glory... it'll take a couple of years to unwind I imagine...

lets just see what they do in the off-season if they make any trades or not, cause there's not really anybody that deserving in the next years draft to finish last so good luck.
