It keeps freezing when I try to get on internet explorer. I had McAfee, but just got a new program, which I ran and found no virus' or problems. I also tried downloading IE 7, but it hasnt seemed to help. What it will do, is sometimes it will let me get on IE (like now) and sometimes it will say "Not Responding", and take forever to let me close the program.

Thanks for your help!

1. Open IE and click Tools at the top left.
2. Choose Internet Options.
3. Delete your history and cookies.
4. Make sure you have good connection from your laptop to the router and if you've got the router then make sure it's not getting to hot.
5. Never use McAfee because it makes your computer run really slow starting up and other performances.
6. Go to www.downloads.com and in the search engine type Panda Antivirus 2007.
7. Download it and install it make sure you uninstall any other virus program before completly installing Panda because otherwise it can cause conflicts.
8. Go back to www.downloads.com and download Spyware Doctor. Install it and run it. It's for adware and spyware which could be causing the problem.
9. Once again go back to www. downloads.com and download jv16 Power Tools. It is a registry cleaner which will make your computer run way faster.
10. If you need a better firewall then download Zone Alarm Pro at www.downloads.com also.

Hope this helps.

Try running a spyware program like AdAware or SpyBot Search and Destroy - or both. While you are able to get IE to work, I highly recommend downloading Firefox so you have another browser to use when IE won't work.

It's also possible you have too many programs running in the background and they are tying up your computer's memory. Either you or someone who knows a bit about computers can go into MSConfig and make sure you don't have anything running in the background that doesn't need to be running (Start>Run>'msconfig').

Laptop manufacturers are notorious for loading a bunch of garbage programs that start automatically and tie up system resources.

GEAHH, NOOOO!!

Get Mozilla Firefox browser, and get Mozilla Seamonkey for a backup browser. Stay away from IE-7, my mother had the SAME problem and threw her puter away...boy, was she pissed when she found out all she had to do was download a browser that wouldn't give her any crap!

If IE-7 won't let you download the Mozilla pack, have a friend in Yahoo IM do it and send you the pack through Yahoo IM, NOT E-MAIL! Open it, install it, and don't EVER open up IE-7 again for as long as you live!

ie7 seems to have some bugs in it, could be a problem that you are having.
maybe another program acting up, or could be a virus but not a definate.
try this online scan
www.housecall.trendmicro.com

get windows updates , i would go back to ie6
may also want to check that your anti virus isnt acting up
you said you had mcafee but changed it, mcafee has a removal tool you could try to see if its still on your pc which could explain any conflict between mcafee and your new anti-virus

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:

You probably have tons of file on your hard drive. Try formatting your laptop to get rid all the files and reinstall windows, it could be corrupted windows files too.

Or maybe you do not have enough RAM or Hardiskspace, try upgrading.
