Congrats I'm at ten weeks right now! But anyway, Yes morning sickness can last all day long and it did for me too with my first pregnancy. This pregnancy is completely different from my first because I don't feel sick most of the time. I have had two bouts where I stayed up all night puking and those were about two weeks apart. I took dramamine during my first pregnancy and it really helps make you feel better but it also makes you really tired because its the same stuff that is in any over the counter sleep aids. You can actually take sleep aids too to ease the nausea. I've heard different things about taking dramamine and if its safe when pregnant. So you might want to do some more research on it but I've read on the internet that Unisom works too. I've taken Unisom for this pregnancy to get me to stop puking those two horrible nights. :)

Luckily only felt sick in an afternoon and sick just once aday. This was from 7-13 weeks 14 weeks now and feel fantastic, i did eat lots of ginger products including ginger ale to drink. I also take pregnacare tablets which contain vitamin B which I have read on several occasions is very good for assisting in the symptoms of morning sickness:o)
I have just read Toro Lee's answer and i'm positive green tea is advised not to be drank in pregnancy so please check this out before reaching for the lemon and honey :)

It should only last for 12 weeks, however, it can go on for longer (sorry to have to tell you!). All of the above replies are helpful - ginger is supposed to be very good for morning sickness - but I also found that eating a fresh, crispy, green apple helped me. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

P.S. some people say that really bad sickness mean you are having a girl!

OHH Shame, i feel sorry for you. I had morning sickness for 9 months, right until i gave birth to my eldest daughter. It was absolutely awful, it was so bad that i ended up in hospital on the drip. I weighed the same by the time i was 9 months and still wore my normal clothes. Nothing helped for me, i had hypnotherapy the lot, nothing helped. I know my mother used to suck Rennies while she was pregnant with my youngest sister. Oh i wish you all the best. I would consult a Gp maybe there is something you can use. Good luck and take care of yourself and the little baggage you are carrying. :))

Morning sickness can last all throughout the 1st trimester. the easiest way I've found to get over it is having a cup of hot green tea with lemon and honey, and maybe some wheat cookies, like digestive cookies (or wheat triscut crackers.) They will help settle your stomach. Also, it's been proven that ginger Ale helps settle an uneasy stomach if you're not really a tea drinker..

hope you feel better x x xx x x

I,m sorry to say this but my morning sickness was 24 hours a day and lasted through my entire pregnancy. I also had very bad heartburn.
Rennie's became my best friend!!
The sickness comes reguardless but I did find keeping a box of cinammon grahams near the bed for midnight munchies and to eat dry in the morning before I got up helpful!!!

i feel for you i realy do !! i had any time of day or night sick ness its not funn

try these

cut down on cows milk soya or goat is less fatty dont try sheep it can make you even worse

cut down on fizzy drinks cola and the like soe flat lemonade can help

carry dry crackers with you eat them just as you strt to feel hungry or even gassy they will sock up the exsess acid

if you can cook some mash potato at the start of the day and eat a little and often wit other food it migh help

avoid spiesy food fatty food

and if all else fails try getting some delorolight (not sure if i spelled that right ) it is a drink for people (mostly children) who have been sick it helps add back electrolights and some salt that will also stop you feeling so bad afterwards if you dont like the tast try mixing it with some week juice

and last but not least sleep more on your side with your tummy supposrted it will stop the sinking feeling

i realy hope this helps

if none of this helps go see your doc and dont leve till he dose some thing dont let him fob you off as just being female (sit on him if you have too !!!!)

Hi, i can totally sympathise with you as i had bad morning sickness with both pregnancies - the good news is that it won't last the whole time. With my daughter it stopped about 5 months but just for a few weeks, but when it returned it was a lot better - just threw up then felt fine. With my son it was a lot worse but finished completely at 16 weeks then felt fine. Its not nice and not a lot of people can completely understand, but its worth it at the end!

Oh, a gentle hug first, bless your heart! It usually only last the first trimester (3months) soda crackers may help, followed by small lite meals, keep a journal of what you eat and note what things seem to make it worse. Example, sometimes dairy can upset your whole system. Talk with your doctors office they will have good sound information or call a local health food store. Best of parenting!

i had really bad morning sickness when i was pregnant, sick in the morning, then feeling sick all day. Ginger is supposed to help it, try ginger snaps with a cup of tea, always helped for me. The sickness usually stops around the 12weeks mark, mine did and i felt loads better!!
