While there are some insects that can potentially carry harmful parasites, eating most insects is perfectly safe.
In fact, the parasites potentially carried by most insects are less harmful to us than the ones that are potentially carried by fish (and people actually eat them raw!!), cattle, and especially pigs! So eating insects is probably safer than most of the meats we normally consider 'food'.
In North America (and most of Europe too), there is a huge cultural aversion to eating insects, yet we have no problem at all with eating shrimp, crabs and lobster. I still think that's pretty weird.
I have eaten a few types of insects (crickets, meal worms). I didn't particularily enjoy them, and wouldn't make a habit out of eating them (they were pretty darned greasy actually), but they were perfectly safe to eat.
The fact is, if you've eaten bread, fruit, vegetables, or drank fruit or vegetable juice ever before in your life, there's a near certain chance that you have in fact eaten insects before. You just didn't notice them.
So go ahead and chow down. Consider this your green light!

I'd love to know what kind of insect you are planning on eating, choose something that doesn't sting as I think the poison would be rather bitter and potentially harmful if u happen to have an uknown allergy. but speaking from experience, don't eat ants, they burn your mouth and taste awful, ( I did accidentally ingest ants a few times and they are horrible), but hey if ur game I say go ahead, I doubt u'll be doing it again , but at least u learn from the experience
I'm all for trying new things and would probably try the whole bush tucker thing if I thought I could actually stomach it

Well, I do know that Ladybugs carry strep germs (snails too for that matter), and that Cockroach dust triggers many people's allergies.
Why would you want to eat bugs?
Seriously, if you mean it, I would look into the writings of the man who wrote "Dead Doctors Don't Lie", it is a radio program too, probably with on line archives.
He is a former veterinarian who documents how human's many strange, even sick, eating habits/cravings are a result of mineral & other nutritional deficiencies.
In animals this is known as "pica", in humans it typically goes unrecognized.
Look into it dude, before you start on the critter snacks!

Unless its been sprayed with a pesticide first - bon appetite...
People eat all sorts of insects, as well as spiders (don't eat the fangs on a big one though).
I'd suggest frying to eating raw - but heck, protein is protein.
Usually folks fry or otherwise coat insects (chocolate coated ants and locust type things...)

Why not contact the people at "Fear Factor"? They eat all kinds of bugs on that disgusting program, and nobody has died yet. As far as how they taste---well, take a bite of the little critter and find out!

Make sure you grill it first so its crunchy, tastier, and ipso facto, harmless to your health.
I recommend 15 minutes at 180 degrees F.
You can add chilli sauce to make doubly sure of both improved taste and good health.
I just had Peking Mantis - YUM!

try it and find out, i don't think there are too many bug eaters here that can tell you how it will taste, but I'm just guessing pretty nasty though.
