Attempts were made but nobody came close to actually pulling it off so there wasn't a big deal about it.
SS is way better than it was when even Reagan was Pres. When Reagan was shot, the dude was like 10 feet away from him. Just pulled a gun and shot. Nowadays you have to stand across the street just to look at the Whitehouse.
The more oppressive the regime is towards the people, the tighter the security for its leaders. And Bush's security is good.
Oh and I hope you aren't kicked off for asking a question. Funny how "ProudAmerican" gets all hot and excited thinking that there are "thought police" running around the Internet monitoring everyone's posts. What about the 1st Amendment?

He is the most paranoid president ever. All his audiences are screened and you must be politically correct or you won't get in. Cindy Sheehan had an invite to the state of the union address and was still thrown out and arrested.

Would you be implying they want to get rid of decent ones and keep only those unpopular ones remaining? It would be a bit far-fetched, right? I really dunno, as I have no terrorists in my acquaintances. Should I meet one, I'll ask. Yet, your questioning seems worth more than a split second of reflection.

Conservative Prezs get shot by deranged people, rarely for ideological reasons.
The Right, however, kills Liberals purely for political reasons.
