george...they change the spellings (favourite to favorite), punctuation (using singular quotation marks, instead of double) and some of the words and phrases (your "cooker" to our "stove").
with book one...yours is titled "the philosopher's stone", whereas ours is "the sorcerer's stone". (i even bought the dvd thru amazon uk)

some would consider these small changes, but i wanted to read them in their original english.

p.s. hope you feel better soon xx

As blasphemous as this might be, I've never read any of the books or seen any of the films. I've heard plenty of things about them, both positive and negative, and it's not like I really have anything against them or J.K. Rowling. I'm just so far behind in my reading right now that when I actually do have time to just sit and read, I'm usually reading some reference piece that I need for work.

Maybe once I'm done the current book (that I'm writing, the second in a series), I might take a little break and just read for a couple of months.

And kudos to soren for ordering the original text version rather than the "Americanized" version. I've always believed that most literary pieces lose something when they are "adapted".

No, I go to Waterstones at midnight, and stay up all night to read it. Can't trust these Postmen!
