I had never read the books before, so when I saw the first movie I nearly walked out when Gandalf fell down the pit.......... Seeing him come back in the second movie made me very happy!
The reason it is a good movie is because the books are so well written. The author had such a great understanding of character interaction, mood, theme, it is simply genius. The whole trilogy has such a dark feeling, a sense of impending doom, and yet you can relate to the characters and watch them as their journey unfolds.
The movie opened the story to a whole new generation of readers.

When I saw the first movie at the cinema I was amazed by the story and the movie itself and I became a true fan of it! By the next day I had bought all 3 books! After reading them, I bought the Hobbit and Silmallirion (read them in case you haven't already) and became obsesed about the movie!!! I waited patiently every year for the next November that usually the movies went out in theatres and of course I have all 3 dvds and have watched them with my brother over a million times!!
My favorite one is The Two Towers, it has so much intensity in every scene. Oh almost forgot, I'm in love with Aragorn, he has sth that I like so much. He's not afraid of anything and fights until the last moment for things and persons he loves. A true man..
By the way... "Keep it secret, keep it safe"...

lord of the rings???
sometimes they're boring and sometimes it's interesting but honestly that movie is great but i can't seem to find what and which should i like from that movie?
confusing.
i think that eragon [if anyone watched already] is better than the lord of the rings, also the rest of the characters.

I'll probably get some thumbs down for this, but I don't really care. I thought it stunk to high heaven. It's highly over rated, stupid and idiotic. A waste of time and energy watching that crappy movie.

I hate it.
Number 1 I can't actually watch the movies because of the special effects they use. It messes my eyes up and gives me migraines so I can't actually watch the film anyway
Number 2 the storyline of each on doesn't interest me at all.

Erm, GandAlf. (Sorry.)
I love all three movies, I think they are fantastic. The cinematography is awesome, and I think their casting was exquisitie.
However, if you have not read the books, I think you should. They are unbelievably good! Way better than the films could ever be (and that is saying something!)

Everything about the movie was brilliant. The acting, the special effects, costumes, etc, etc., One of my all time favorites.
