Buy it, rent it & burn it, download it, but however you get it....just get it. This show was perhaps the finest work ever put to film. If you want to read up on the plotline first, go to:

The editorial review and the top 2 customer reviews give a good outline of what the story's about. By the 5th or 6th episode, you will be hopelessly addicted forever. Thank me later. :)

Yes, Carnivale makes you think. It doesn't deaden your braincells with standard TV tripe. You really think about the mythology, the what-if's, the possibilities. It makes you speculate...you try to look forward and anticipate what's coming. That's one of the elements that makes it different.

The show was cancelled on May 11th 2005. The story was supposed to run for 6 seasons to tell the entire story. HBO cut it short and declared the story done, which incensed the fans.

Thanks for the plot line help...I saw the first three episodes, and I did find it very good, but the plot I found was kind of hard to follow, I think the reason it did not take off like it should is that people have gotten used to T V shows telling them what to think about them, there is no creativity or depth to TV characters anymore, just mindless people doing mindless things.. I found Carnivale to be like one of the old-time series, entertaining, and makes you wander what is going to happen next.

OMG, I love this show. Every time I try to talk to someone about it they just look at me with a blank stare. I went to HBO.com a few weeks ago to see if I could get an update. The final episode looked as if this show would return for additional seasons. Didn't Sofie find out that she is Brother Justin's daughter? And it seems like I vaguely remember something incestuous happening between Brother Justin and Iris. It's been so long, maybe I'll get the past episodes and get caught up. I'm very disappointed in HBO for taking so long with this series. This was definitely one of their best series. I liked it better than the Sopranos.

I am the essence of specialness, if I show you mine you will need some of those special viewing glasses because it would be like looking at a solar eclipse.
