Yes, Carnivale makes you think. It doesn't deaden your braincells with standard TV tripe. You really think about the mythology, the what-if's, the possibilities. It makes you speculate...you try to look forward and anticipate what's coming. That's one of the elements that makes it different.

The show was cancelled on May 11th 2005. The story was supposed to run for 6 seasons to tell the entire story. HBO cut it short and declared the story done, which incensed the fans.
