HELP! i need to get this right! Also, am i better with stayups or a suspender belt because mixed responses from friends and i DON't wear tights!

I don't think a pant suit would give the right impression to be honest. My 1st interview is on Fri this week so gotta buy all stuff in now coz my old suit has had it!

ok, so now i'm thinking - dark skirt suit, low(ish) dark slingback heels, natural stockings, stayups NOT suspender belt ones and minimal jewellery? How does this sound and do stayups actually do what they are meant to?? i.e. stayup?

A suit is always a good choice for an interview. You can break that up with a white small patterned shirt. The dark stockings and heels-I think it is probably best if you wear just "bare" colored stockings, but not very high dark heels. As to the hose question, I think stayups are better than suspender belt in this situation. But after saying all this, it is important for you to be comfortable in the image you portray to others. In other words, be true to yourself. Good luck on that interview--knock em dead.

I would go with the stayups rather than a suspender belt becauses the s/b has those little knobs that stick out and can be seen through your skirt, you don't want the interviewers getting the idea you are dressed for sex if you take my drift.
Choose stockings in a neutral shade as close as poss to your skin colour. This is the most formal option.
If your suit is navy your shoes should be black - actually black shoes are best for navy, charcoal, grey or black and I would assume your interview suit is one of these colours. Go for a white shirt, you can't beat it. A string of pearls and plain gold or silver stud earrings or no earrings. Do not wear bracelets or more than one or two rings. A discreet lapel brooch is ok.
Most importantly is that everything is in good order. Checklist follows:
Your shoes are in good repair and not run down at the heels.
They are polished to a HIGH shine.
Your nails are immaculately clean and if you have nail polish it is clear or neutral and perfect with no chips. If you get a chip at the last minute take it off and rub in some hand cream.
Your hair is clean and neat. When in doubt go for the option that keeps all hair off your face.
If you wear glasses, clean them right before you go in, and be sure the light is not reflecting off them to give you that eyeless look that is so offputting. If you don't know how to avoid this, then remove them before you go in and just live with being blind.
Interviewers love eye contact. If you are not comfortable with too much of it, look at the middle of the person's forehead, this gives the impression of frankly meeting their eyes.
Be sure your handshake is firm and your palms are dry.
Good luck!

I assume that you ARE female? If not I would certainly do a rethink on your choice of clothes unless the job is in a Lady-boy bar.
If you are female then please keep your stockings, of whatever type, and high heels to wear at nightclubs. For a job interview it would be far more professional to wear plain darkish coloured tights or dress trousers (not jeans) with medium heels. If the employer is older and extremely traditional then they may not be fond of women employees wearing trousers. You can counteract this sexist attitude by topping the outfit with a feminine blouse (but don't flaunt your cleavage). Keep the colour for the top - as I have seen nervous wee patches on pale skirts during interviews and its NOT a good look. Remember if you use your sexual allure to get the job then you shouldn't complain about discrimination afterwards! Remember you are selling your capabilities not your body.

I always wear stockings and a garter belt to work, because the stockings seem to stay up better, and I since I wear my stockings very high, I don't have a problem with the straps showing. I would coordinate stockings with the suit. Tan stockings with lighter suit, off black or gray, with darker suit.

You can wear pastel color.. Like if you will wear pink pastel colored blouse, be sure to wear black skirt with dark stocking but be sure to wear low heeled pair of shoes for you to feel more comfortable and relaxed. Then wear a pair of pearl earrings. Also, wear light make up. But be sure to wear high necked blouse so as not to distract your interviewer. As in be prim and proper, ok? Don't forget to wear your sweetest smile and no to chewing gums. It's unbecoming to be interviewed in that kind of situation.
Good luck and may you pass your interview. Hope you will have a Prosperous New Year!!!!!!

It depends on the job you are going for, it s best if you stick to roughly what you would normally wear or you will feel and act not quite yourself and the employers will not see you as you are.
a bit of colour helps a severe dark outfit. . i wear mid calf length skirts and boots in the winter as i won't wear tights either.
