Five ways.....
1. The first and most important is to improve education and make it public and free if it isn't already...
2. 2nd, make a plan of creating job opportunities and try to reduce with this, poverty.
3. Make foreign business men to invest in the country's main industries.
4. Take advantage of the hard working people from India that usually end up going to other countries. Give the hard working and intelligent people of India incencitives to stay in the country and make it grow into a strong united country.
5. Teach an ambition way of thinking and behaving to every person in India.

Get rid of the Caste System (outlawed yes.... but still in place)
Allow the Kashmir to be independent
Stop allowing Vishnu University Graduates to leave the country
Sign treaty with Pakistan for permanent border establishment
Cut ties with all nearby territories that are in revolt


Once these are done the following things will happen.
Everyone will feel 'equal' (Caste system prevents some from attaining any true measure of success) and people productivity will rise dramatically. The rebellion in the Kashmir will stop, and the border treaty with Pakistan will throw Pakistan off-guard for at least a few years. University graduates leave the country before the ink on their diplomas is dry.... by keeping them in India it will slow down the 'brain-drain' from Vishnu Univ. The Radical insurgents will go blow someone else up and India wont waste so much manpower and resources on those worthless areas.

Tough question, especially since I've never set foot in there.

0) Obviously population growth and poverty are still major problems in this imerging nation. How to solve these? Tough one.
1) Find ways to prevent the boy girl ratio from getting too out of whack? That is in places where parents have had abortions to prevent themselves for having a daughter, ...
2) Look at ways to reduce the increase of air polution. Better emittion standards? Mabye if old cars are the cost, some kind of engine replacement programs?
3) Establish some kind of olympic program. I mean when you have a fifth of the world population, one medal is pretty bad. Perhaps focus on areas that India is good at? Presure the world to have a varient of cricket in the Olympics; its only fair. With some many cultures in the subcontinent, there have bound to be some areas, other than field hockey. They should definately have a good field hockey team. I'd look for sports that are cheap to try and find candidates across the country.

Lol, friend, no offense meant, but superior countries have a way to slide down to anonymity in hard times. Now, if you mean getting India to level up with foreign standards, I think they are on their way to reach high industrial standards in terms of engineering and computer science. I would be more reserved on areas like cultivating rice and wheat, since they are a preferred target to large multinational companies willing to sell them their terminator gene. Beware the malicious, and keep a good eye on what's wrong with western lifestyles, is all.

the challenge is that China and India will quickly surpass the US because of the fact the right CO2 manufacturers, infact i think China already has, so there is not lots factor in having the West shrink collectively as the East without postpone will strengthen. the different subject is that the US and China are actually not for sure pal or foe. limiting the CO2 for the US might harm our enterprise even and competivness even greater beneficial and might help China that fairly greater. And back, it isn't sparkling if that help is for a pal or foe, so it is form of like a double whammy.
