Also is it safe to leave fresh veg in the cage for a day, or even just over night?

hi,
my expert knowledge and advise is on mice, are you feeding your pet the right amount of food?, have you given your mice and vitimins/salt licks or do you change the water every day?

a good source of food for mice is protine because they dont get much so try cooking some bacon in the oven if possible or in very low fat oil. Also try a little hard boiled egg cut up in small peices-(remove the shell)
remember not all mice like it so don't worry if your mouse turns there nose up to it!
hope you found this usfull

Veggies are fine. Just make sure it's in small amounts because too many veggies will make his stool (poop) too thin, and leaving the veg in too long out of the fridge dries it out or spoils it. For one mouse a piece half the size of a dime with his regular food should do.
