Yes, the Jeep is specially made for off roading, so if that is your purpose the Jeep is the way to go. That FJ Cruiser isn't going to go very far in hard terrain. BUT, the 07 Wrangler is very expensive (upwards of 30,000 dollars) while the FJ is in the low 20s. it all depends on what you want. i personally don't like either of them, i don't care for the "retro" designs they both have. A 06 and 05 Wrangler Rubicon would be good since they have the 4.0 inline 6, a 6 speed, and getting lower in prices since the new one is out.

Depends, are you gonna customize it? There are literally hundreds of options for the Jeep and very few for the Toyota. Also, are you looking for real off roading and rock crawling or just a street toy? The Toyota is a fun street machine but the Jeep is made for off roading in the worst terrain possible. Also the replacement parts are cheaper. I'd say if you are a wimp, but the Toymotor! Real men and women drive Jeeps!

the FJ Cruiser would be the way to go. those things go anywhere. and as for the answer taht said the FJ cant do well on rough terrain....i have watched an FJ Cruiser go MUCH further than aWrangler slick rock 4 wheeling.
