I am looking for a new hobby and was wondering why you love boats and boating ?
What does it do for you and how does it make you feel?

Can you tell me a sample boating experience that made you feel great or was special?

I have had a number of hobbies - motorcycles, shooting, fast cars. The one that I get the most joy from is boating. It is hard to describe how it makes me feel. It can be very peaceful at times, but also very exciting have a boat full of friends. My husband and I ride our boat from Chicago, down the Illinois River to the Mississippi. There are some areas where you think you are the only people on the river. We are fortunate enough to have a large boat where we could live on it comfortably. We have made many good friends at the various marines we go to and see them all winter long.

I have been into boating practically since birth. My dad was an engineer for Outboard Marine Corp and we always had the newest Johnson or Evinrude boats and motors. Nothing beats the freedom of skipping across the waves of the Great Lakes, or skiing the warmer inland waters. I now own a 24' pontoon, 14' runabout, and three jet skis. I am on the water at least three times a week with my wife and two young sons, and have seen them learn to swim, ski, catch fish, dive, and kneeboard. We often head out at dusk on the pontoon to enjoy the stars, or catch fireworks displays over the water several times per year. Boating removes you from the stresses of the world, provides a great way to entertain friends, and always leaves you smiling. Now I am an engineer for Bombardier, working with Evinrude outboards, and it's a dream job for me. It's an activity that is about fun, family, and new experiences. I find it to be an escape, even if we're only 200 feet from shore. Start small and affordable, and give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.
