Advantages of Sampling
i. Sampling saves time and money

ii. Sampling saves labor.

iii. A sample coverage permits a higher overall level of adequacy than a full enumeration.

iv. Complete census is often unnecessary, wasteful, and the burden on the public.

v. the only means of obtaining data about an infinite population (e.g. air temperatures)
vi. cost and time effective means of obtaining data about a large finite population; better data then hastily collected data for the entire population
vii. desirable when measurement is destructive or stressful (e.g. plant sampling, some measurements on people)

The larger your number is, the smaller your error rate becomes. You want a sample bigger than 20 people. You want your error rate to be less than 5%.

Sampling saves time but you lose a bit of objectivity because you're limiting results to your sample. You must make the selection of your sample out of your population completely random to avoid any systematic error.
