What makes it thrive and go ahead amid all these problems inside and outside? Is it the fact that the US is a melting pot? ( the US attracts genuises from all over the world.) How much of the American economy and power is there because of the efforts of immigrants?

We are a superpower because free societies and capitalist societies in particular fruit success.
All counties have problems, the liberal-anti-American media exaggerates ours. We are and always will be the greatest country on earth.
Immigrants are always a drain on society at first. They take jobs few want, but use up more in public services than we ever get in return. -It takes the second & third generations to finally melt into the American system and not just vote for who will give them something.
America is the melting pot, but the rapid invasion of illegals are not interested in melting. They want the jobs until but soon they wave their foriegn flags and threaten boycotts.
We really should do what Eisenhower did with "Operation Wet-back." -Round all the illegals up, send them back and live in a country that looks a little more like the majority...

1. Government spending (Military, Commerce, & Transportation).
2. Corporations have formed Oligopolies, which are "Globalizing".
3. 50 States working independently, while United by the Federal Govt. --- The "Unofficial - Official" unity of English. Using the same language since the advent of the USA is a major advantage and has lead to economic superpower status.
--- Same Currency: Money is a language that speaks louder than most things. The European Union has identified the power of a united currency, thereby creating the "Euro".
--- Civil War free for long periods of time. Civil wars destroy commerce, transportation, and other economic stabilities. The USA's system of holding 50 independent states that are united under one government, allow for disputes to be settled without a civil war.

i guess United States the num.#1 superpower in the world although it suffers from problems because America is one of the industrialize country because now a days people are talking about hytech such as robotics. and America is processing it....
but for me i consider JAPAN as the num#1 actually
