every time i tell my mind something it absorbs it but then it takes over me, so i have that feeling that it is not listening to me

Speak in a LOUD VOICE and say : SNAP OUT OF IT!!
While smacking yoursel on the side of the head as hard as you can. Stop when the voices do.

Who is the is "me" in your question? It is also the mind. The mind wants to command the mind! Then who will command the command - ad infinitum.
Forget about control or commanding your mind. Simply observe it with neutrality.
Just as if you are watching the traffic, sometimes there are more cars, sometimes less. Or when you can lay on your back in a park and look at the clouds go passed overhead. But do not get attached to the clouds. Let them pass.
But your interest in your mind shows your intelligence, next step check out some methods of meditation - but not concentration!

first find the door way that can get u the most relaxation for your peace of mind~i suppose you didn't read the civilization~man or the tomarrow file or what the hell would you want to buy a new computer with nothing in it?~u got to program it or do the jargon changes to say you are building like bricks of knowledge and one stacks on top of another how ever you wish to construct, or build with safety nets so that when u fabricate or weave your thoughts they have to be obviously true~c that we all recognize what is true and the circle of evidence that is the principals of building blocks of life~it is why we jump in to anything that my be even hidden from ourselves as to what reasons we search for facts, clues about ourselves and our people we choices to know and what can be conclusively obtained by any organization will inevitably and positive way to accumulate for your mind~but what is your in tent with command sound impulsive & and submissive to addministrate, were all trying to build an easy button like u c on TV

Seeing you and your mind as different is not good. I will suggest that you talk to a qualified counselor.

I have heard that this happens in an unhealthy mind. I am not being negative. This is common. Stop thinking too much about 'your mind'. Just relax and involve in simple interesting activities that will help you focus.

I'm afraid you will have to be specific because as it stands now your question doesn't tell us what you mean by your mind being taken over and that you feel it isn't listening to you.

it is everybody's problem and most of the people doen't know about it, but luckily you have realized it and it is great.
by practicing meditation you can preveal overy your mind
