There are plenty of pills out there to alter the moods of people.
Why though? Why on earth do you want your child on anything? This condition is never going to go away. It is best to deal with the situation instead of drugging a autistic child.
You never said how old your autistic child is? Mine is now 11 and never had he been on any mood altering drugs. Doctors and the schools wanted him on them but good thing I have the final decision.

Autism I feel needs to be worked with. What is your child's mood triggers? Is the household a stable one? Is there screaming and yelling? Is there hitting going on? Everything for these kids is slowed just a tad bit. Are you raising this child on your own?
When I was working full time, dealing with him and the other boys it was hell. This child one minute he would be fine, next minute going completely out of control.

Autism is not a medicated treatable condition. Love patients, understanding, routine, diet is the key. Not easy but know one said being a parent was going to be a cake walk. Ask for help if there is in your area. Good luck!!
