It depends.

When Coors had been evil and abusive to the community for years then got busted and gave a guilt contribution to a national organization and bought an ad in the Advocate it didn't sway me a bit.

When a local company is supportive of the community by buying space in the gay center's newsletter or something I make every effort to support them.

I don't really subscribe to targeted marketing as being very effective. I chose products by needs and the quality of the product, not necessarily by what the company's philosphy is. Afterall, the only reason any company attempts to target gays or any other specific target group is for the bottom line only.

If I see a gay-aimed commercial, it has implications that this is a gay-friendly company. Implications, NOT statements. I do tend to go and look and see what else I can find about their other policies before I support them.
