The thing I wanna know is where the hell is delivering pizza at 3:45 in the morning? Give a number up, dude, I want pizza too!
No, seriously...the delivery driver makes out like a bandit, whether or not you tip. That delivery fee goes to him...His gas mileage is compensated as well. He could make 30 runs in an 8 hour shift and based on your idea of a tip, he could end up with $60 or $70 at the end of the night.
But, you know what TIPS means? It means, "To Insure Prompt Service". (I know, stupid as hell, ain't it? LOL) Believe it or not, your tip will lay the base as to how fast your pizza will get to you next time you order it. You don't wanna stiff the dude and then have him deliver it next time.

Well I am a general manager for a major pizza delivery company. Tipping is always appreciated very much by employees. Anything less than 2 dollars is cheap. Anything over 5 is a great tip. People who don't tip at all souldn't order. Stores pay there drivers a fee for using there car. We pay 1 dollar per run. All that covers is the use of there car. If you think about it tires, oil changes wear and tear is expensive. Drivers who don't get tipped actually lose money by working. So to answer your question no your not cheap but remember that's how they make there living. Every dollar counts.

$0. I get $5 hot and ready large pepperoni's from Little Ceasars. Ordering overpriced pizza is crazy.
Back when there wasn't a LC close by I'd tip $1. $2 if it was something like $18 and I paid with a $20.

It depends on how far away you live from the restaurant. If you are fairly close, then $2 is good. If they have to drive more than 5 minutes to get to you, then you should give more if they are driving their own car and not the restaurant's car. Remember, they are paying for gas to bring the pizza when they drive their own car, so be cool and toss in an extra buck if you live far away.

Get real! My dumb daughter delivers pizza. From the place she works, she gets $1,00 for every one she delivers, and at the end of her minimum wage job, gets her gas mileage at $.21 cents a mile. This person is actually using their gas, and putting horrible mileage and wear and tear on their car to feed YOU! In California, I think tips are 15% of the order.
But, for the sake of my daughter and people like her..................be generous!!!
