As a note,Ardra has a horrible,horrible answer,and i'd be surprised if he actually played the game (to 60). I mean it,you'd be better off disregarding 'hunter fear','rogues unstoppable 1v1',and all such things said in his answer.
All classes are balanced,and the biggest factor in choosing a race is looks. So,there is NO best race,class,or race/class combination. The only question is,what's the best class for you? We'd need details to answer that.
Personally I like to play as Human because every other race seems geeky,but that's just opinion. :-D

Muslims are better at war than anyone else.
1. They pray while they fight so it makes them more moral. They have tawakul, They know God is aware of their deeds.
2. They fight for their homes, tribe , towns families, the state and religion. All of that is one thing their deen (religion practice at every level)
3. They fast Ramadan and so are tough, self sacrificeing ,resilient and disciplined.
4. They do not kill women and children and religious people in wars. They follow the sunnah in their war ethics . They have a strict ethic of how war should be prosecuted.
5. They don't hesitate to punish evil doers when the time comes.
6. there is no racism in islam so the military is racially integrated for day one.
7. They are unified accross boundaries and recognise only Islam as their ideology of state. Therefore do not easily divide . (A Qur'anic command: do not divide)
8. Any male at the age of puberty is considered morally an adult and can marry or fight if they choose to. So all ages of balagh males are fighting together young and old alike . Moreover women may also fight even without permission of their husbands.
9. Muslim wariors don't drink alchohol or use pornography or subjugate women with prostitution. as a result their wars do not have this dirty face that follows all other wars :The evils of abject poverty and moral ruin.
10. Muslim fighters pray salat 5X a day.

Paladins are immortal because of divine shield and lay hands.
Rogues are almost unstoppable in a 1 on 1 fight because they can just lock you up until you're dead.
Hunters need to be NERFED because they can fear, silence, stun, and do insane damage from long distances. If the hunter is a night elf they can stealth outdoors too.
