Would you trust a poet with philosophy?

Or would you rather he speaks plain.

Poets don't lie. It's called literature, which is fiction. It doesn't have to be real

I am a confessional poet - so I think I am being too honest.

Here's why I write poetry in one of my poems.

I write bad poetry
Can't you understand
I won't conform to your demands
Suddenly struck I write
but don't expect rewriting
Rhyming is an impossibility
so please don't bully me
And reasoning, you want sensibility
but that 's not my way
really, do you need more convincing
I write bad poetry
and if I laugh at convention
that's my happiest invention

I write bad poetry
and you insist on knowing why
and what for
rebel that I am still
I hope you will understand

I write bad poetry for me and dare
dear you

Examples?

Poets are not necessarily philosophers. Some may wax philosophic.

Liars?

What an odd question.

In poetry you can also find some of the most profound truths about mankind.

Hey, that's very offensive to me because I am a poet. I mean, I never lie in my poetry or when I speak spoken word.

Poets write what ever they get in their mind. And this is known as fiction. You too may knew that some fictions like aeroplane, cell phone, space journey came true. And we don't believe this as truth at first and consider it as a lie.

plain talk goes a long way toward trust.and most of the poetry is a result of claustrophobia.my poetry and philosophy are always pointing to something , and always a way though or out and so i have concluded this of poetry and philosophy and of it's usage for the good of mankind,i am still debating.

They do exaggerate to drive home a truth.... if that is lying then it indeed is worth it!!
