Because many non muslims feel they are hated by muslims too. The same way people feel they are hated by fundamentalis christians, or fanatic catholics, or some Jews. These religions basically preach that whoever is not part of their church or religion is living in sin or incapable of being morally upright people, and will die without salvation, that THEY are the chosen people. If you hear that how would you respond? Maybe not with hate but something close to that I bet. Look on the bright side, it's not only the muslims that are "hated". What sucks is everyone else gets affected. If a nuclear war ensues, not only muslims and fundamentalists die, we all do.

But apart from that, and probably more important points, I agree with TECHX. Yes, religious groups are guilty of regarding everyone else as the damned but muslims in the arab region especially are guilty of showing their negative side. Even arabs admit this, i know my arab friends do, and they're muslim, but they are honest enough to admit that their hatred towards the west stems back from medieval grudges and that wars and conflict seem to be integral parts of Arab culture...hey, not my words...THEIRS! OKAY? Indonesians muslims for instance don't go all fanatic about arab issues. Granted, there are terrorist movements there, but that's because of anti western propaganda from arab groups. And considering them plus malaysia constitute the largest islamic popullation the percentage of conflict among them and their neighbors are relatively lower. And according to scholars, many Indonesians are beginning to question their faith as Arabs and their conflicts increasingly become the "face" of Islam. I'd expect a surge of converts to christianity in the next 10 years in indonesia and malaysia. Granted, christians have killed millions in the name of their religion, but that's not what christians do these days. The Catholic church suffered losses of numbers and credibility because of these past atrocities, spurring Protestantism and many schisms. Muslims on the other hand, although many might be against violence and war have not spoken up or ACTED against these to the same extent christians have within their own religion. The world so far only sees one radical face of Islam, people willing to blow themselves up for their cause. Are the rest of you not willing to die for what you believe Islam should be? If I had to make a choice, I'd say hats off to the terrorists, they die for their beliefs, they practice what they preach, now it's up to the peace-loving muslims out there to match that in some way (instead of pointing the finger at us for being prejudiced). don't ask me how...that's up to you all. Clean up your own house if you really believe it's dirty, if you don't could you really blame the world for seeing you all as sympathisers? Maybe stop teaching YOUR OWN children hate against Jews and non-muslims, censor your TV, stop going to mosques where hate is preached, assassinate extremists, plot against your dictators (instead of waiting for Bush to get rid of them and then call thank them with street bombs). The world is ready to believe that you DO love peace and that you are tolerant of others as your Prophet HAS TAUGHT YOU TO BE. It's up to all of you to change our perceptions of you. But I'm not confident you will because of the way you all react to criticism, you dismiss everything as some form of prejudice or racism. Thinking every non-muslim is damned doesn't really help our first reaction does it?

It's definitely not the religion that people "hate" so much as it is the people who use it to justify their warring tendencies. Not saying it's a matter of race, perhaps it's how generations have been educated and/or endoctrinated. well, it's a whole chicken or egg debate again. Maybe it's the weather? It's sooo bloody hot out there I'd rather blow myself up.

We don't wash our hands of all atrocities our countries have done in the past or are doing now. But what was done in the past isn't being done anymore because our peoples have told our governments that it's wrong. And the wrong things our governments are doing now people are trying to fight against. THAT'S WHAT DEMOCRACY IS FOR. Peoples have risked their lives to have such right. The chinese man stood in front of a tank. The filipinos gave their lives to get rid of Marcos. The Burmese are still in jail. The americans died fighting the British. What have arabs been willing dying for??? You tell me.

Why does the world hate islam and muslims? I think you all know, deep in your hearts, exactly why...a lot more than we do. Do you really mind that the world hates you? This is most probably just a rhetorical question, I don't believe this was posed because of your ignorance, you simply want to provoke answers. Well, here you have it. I doubt if Mohammed is looking down on you all with a smile. You will have to settle that with him and Allah when you meet up with them later.

They say Islam has been hijacked, well, if your a peace-loving Muslim...a real Muslim by definition, don't you think it's about time you hijacked it back?

There are 3 groups of Muslims in my eyes, the extremists and sympathisers, those who sit back scared as **** to speak up, and those who speak up risking their lives. I only "like" the last group. For the second group: if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Stop asking why we hate you, or hate us for hating you, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I think I would call it frustration. You seem to have this huge double standard in your culture. For example, the palestinians have been complaining about some new terrible Isreali weapon. You know as well as I do that if the arabs had this "new" weapon they'd be saying how wonderful it was if Isrealis were dying. The arab world is making Saddam a martyr, when he murdered by the score the arab world said NOTHING. Beheading the hostages was a real big selling video in the arab world too I hear.Iran threatens to wipe out a entire country and the arabs say NOTHING, because it's Isreal. Don't you people get it yet????
It's like your all stuck in the year 1200. Whenever arabs do anything violent to other people is just peachy keen with them it seems. When the "payback" comes around there's all this chest beating, people wailing, screaming for "justice". It's aqll a two way street. What goes around comes around. This is something alot of people (not just arabs) need to learn.

The extremes of one human being's hatred are extremely offset by way of the extremes of yet another human being's responses. What we've listed below are those who're unable to easily enable some different person to believe in yet differently from themselves. we've too a lot of this variety of ingredient on Yahoo! solutions, and fantastically because it type of feels to concentration on Christians and Muslims, 2 of the biggest communities contained in the international. What can some thing individuals do to cajole you to stay and allow stay? Play "Blues for Allah" daily for a week, perchance? the line "Blues for Allah ability Shalom" makes the point, i imagine: Shalom ability Peace. If we grant those who stick with Islam have had some not hassle-free cases, and sympathize with them, per chance they could, in turn, have somewhat sympathy and staying power with those those who've a diverse be conscious to apply for God (it really is, after all, basically language, no longer inevitably faith). let's call a halt to call calling, ok adult men? i'd be referee in case you want, as someone who's neither Christian nor Muslim, yet has associates in both camps.

I don't. I, like most people dislike religious extremists. The far left or the far right is not the way.If Islam is a religion of love and caring, why all the blood shed? Factions within, having there own agendas are using the name of Allah to promote there own beliefs. This I don't care for.

I do not hate Islam and Muslims. It is just that you can not tell the difference between just a regular Muslim and the fanatic's who want to kill all Americans. When you can not tell the difference between the good guys and the bad guys you shoot first and ask questions second. It is called survival. If you can tell me how to tell the difference please let me know. Ten thousand friendly Muslims and one crackpot with a bomb can kill me and my family. But I would have ten thousands Friends but I would be dead. Understand? Figure a way to keep the nuts away and I would welcome all the friendlies.

I think a better question is :

Why do muslim or islamic people hate Americans? Or for that matter, anyone who isn't them?

The answer is because they've built up a proprietary religious wall (which is something a lot of religions are guilty of), but I don't see any Christians or Buddhists hijacking planes and flying them into buildings. The radical wings of these religions preach and teach hate and mistrust of all others...which is a serious shortfall of any religion. "Believe as we do or we'll kill you" is a recipe for eternal conflict.

It is stupid to hate what you know nothing about or do not understand You have to look beyond the propaganda we are being fed, get facts about the workings of their religion Then make up your own mind Hate is a waste of time it fills the soul with bitterness and eats away your psyche like a cancer I admit I don't hate them; but neither do I understand their way of life To each his own; they have their religion, I have my own. That is the way it is. So be it.

It Would be Easier not to hate if we didn't see Hundreds of Thousands of Muslims chanting DEATH to AMERICA every day and burning US Flags. Also if you don't want to be hated how about trying to contribute to the good of society once in awhile instead of just trying to destroy everything that you don't agree with, that would be a start.

Why would you assume that I do? One silly cult or another (christians, jews, confuciusts, etc.) makes no difference to me. I just wish you'd all grow up and stop expecting rational, thinking people to take any of you seriously.
