A poacher is a player who hangs around as close to the goal as possible looking for any kind or deflection, odd bounce, or other uncontrolled ball the he can get his feet head, or body on to send it toward the goal. They'll go after the ball in a crowd too.

A player with this mentality doesn't care if the ball is set up just right or if his aim is perfect. He attempts a lot of goals and may often take shots other players wouldn't.
