I am concerned with my cognitive condition. If you or someone you know exibits similar simptoms or you know what is wrong could you provide me with details it will be greatly appreatated and ease my concern. I am 20 and already very forgetfull; a lot of times I am in the midst of doing something when I forget what the hell I am doing. In other cases I make incredibly irrational decisions. On the other end of the spectrum I am doing excellent in engineering college and holding above a 3.5 gpa. It bothers me simply because I have a lot of love for knowlege and would hate for something to happen. Thanks, Guy Incognito

Do not feel bad. I'm 20 as well, and i have a horrible memory. If I'm in the middle of doing something and someone distracts me i have to stand there for about 25min trying to remember what I'm doing. One time i was flippin out bc i couldn't remember what i did with the TV remote when i had went to the kitchen, finally after like an hour of lookin for it, i opened up the fridge and there it was. You probably need to start taking Vitamins and start eating healthier and exercising. If the problem persist consult a physician.

I have had trouble remembering things as well. I'm not very old. I believe it's easy, for some people, to just pass things up - go auto pilot on simple day to day activities. The absent minded professor sort of thing. I would hope it's not a physical problem but just a lack of focus on mundane things that has gotten out of hand. It may do you well to sit back and try to slow down a little, lower your stress, and you may be more attentive.

I hate to mention it, but I suppose you might think about talking to a doctor. I'll bet, however, he'll be unreceptive to anything other than a lack of focus or too much stress.

haha it's normal, i do the same thing too and my GPA are well above 3.5 I just think it's the stress that is getting to you. Sometime i tend to daydream about things and always forgetting stuff. Also, it might be that you're not getting enough sleep. and i dont mean sleeping for 12 hours straight and what not but more like you're not getting 8 hours sleep everyday during the same time of each day. therefore you tend to forget things. well, that's my case at least and if that's not the case then you just have A.D.D or A.D.H.D haha so go to the nurse at your college and talk to them about it because it's FREE hahaha or if you have insurance go see a doctor and tell them about your conditions

To my experience, you don't get enough sleep. Enough in terms of 8 hours a day. I used to have the exact same experience when I was in college and cope with a lot of exams, researches, and assignments. I don't know the exact explaination, but I guess our brain is handling too much and stressed out. What I did when I realized that was I don't want to think too much about what happen around me, so sometimes I looked pretty lazy, but only because I don't want to think unless I was in need to think. For instance, when somebody ask you a riddle, just reply with 'I don't care that much to answer that', or something a little less rude. Use your brain in more effective use, until you know that you're ok again.
Good luck.

Maybe you just have too many things on your mind. You're wanting to do so many things at one time that you forget what's what. Maybe you should jot what needs to get done, do one thing at a time, have a breather, then go to the next. That way things don't overlap and you don't get overwhelmed.
