I just got back from an intense week of snowboarding in Colorado and I have the bug. I am looking for something all-purpose to continue learning on, but am willing to spend an extra few bucks for the investment.

I am 5'10'' and about 175lbs and have been using a 157 board.

Im also into graphic design so I would love a pretty creative design. I really love the designs on the Burton Uninc boards, but dont think those really functionally fit with what I am capable of doing.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I can only freeride at this point and am limited to small jumps. However, I want to eventually get to the park level in a few years.

If you like the Uninc you should buy it. If you plan to do park in the future then buying a freeride board now wouldn't really help you. The rome agent is another good board that can handle freeriding and park however it's above the $400.

On www.futuresnowboarding.com they have a board selector that once you narrow down what kind of style board you're looking for you can put that in the board selector and your price range.

Really depends. If you want to do more freeride instead of the terrain park, you can get a good deal with the K2 Illusion or Burton Blunt. If you want to go more freestyle, then you can get the Un.Inc or whatever you feel comfortable with. If you're an intermediate now, you can always grow into your board since they last for several years if you take care of them.

One of the fall issues (November?) of Transworld Snowboarding has the results of their '07 Good Wood Snowboard Test. In it they had a special comparison of the best boards under $400. So it may be good to look in there. Just keep in mind that their reivews tend to be more freestyle focused.

Here's a link to the article but the under $400 comparison was only printed in the magazine.

Burton Air is good for pretty much everything. Also look for the Burton Elite and Burton Se7en, choose depending on your style.

Get a Rome "Machine" their great all around boards and have a decent design. Or you could fork up about 500USD and get a burton custom.
