why would it matter if you liked/loved her

I'm going to reverse the situation here cos I'm a girl. I'd be off like a shot. If you can keep something like that from the person you're with, how much trust could there be in your relationship? I know a girl whose sister used to be her brother. "She" is married to a lieutenant in the USA who has NO IDEA that his wife used to be a guy. I don't have a problem with him/her making the change, but not telling her partner is just dishonest. I'm not even sure how you go about keeping that a secret, especially once you've met the fanily. Mind boggling.
