Why not do both? If you're really into computers, learn all you can and apply to IT as an entry-level tech support person at a hospital or large medical office. Beware though, in healthcare IT the hours can be long and unpredictable because many times the place is open 24/7 and there is zero down time for upgrades and maintenance. But the benefits and job security are great in healthcare vs other fields.
