I am trying to set it up to become a useful site for my customers and potential customers. I provide technical computer support to people, ive added a few articles - do you think people will find these useful?

I want to make it the kind of site people will bookmark, link to and refer their friends to.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks heaps guys!

Thanks for the feedback

Does that mean you guys dont like the colours I have used on my website? I have tried to go for a web 2.0 style theme.. actually the colours are a bit like this website..

Did you not like my usage of bolding? I actually did that to help improve seo..

Please expand on your comment regarding technical details on the homepage.. perhaps i should change the post to 'read more' instead you mean?

How do I mention my expertise more vividly, your feedback is muchly appreciated.

Hi Paul. If you want to increase the traffic on your site, you'll have to increase your page-rank on search engines. This depends on various factors and takes some time. There are some general guidelines for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that you have to follow.

To begin with, you can check out this link: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/

Hope this helps ...

Suggestions:
1. Use some pleasent colors if not white. But ensure that website does not appear gaudy with too much colors. - I meant that white looks a bit bland. So you need to intelligently add a bit more color.
2. Optimize the font size and try using some sobre and bit more professional looking fonts. Try Arial or Tahoma with font size as 10. Choose any other font too. But for god's sake not Times New Roman.
3. Use Bold letters judiciously. - Kepp in mind the paragraphs and spacing too.
4. Avoid technical details in the Home page. - This means that explain clearly what are your service offerings clearly.
5. Mention your expertise in detail and vividly - mention your expertise and the services that wish to provide. The common questions or touble-shooting tips or tricks can be classified under FAQs with subtitles as Basic, Advanced.
6. You can move Testimonials sections a level or two down but definitely so high up.

Note: There would be profesionals who would be delaing with you. So you don't want to make them confused. So maintain clarity of your content.

Also think on the age that you mentioned you got started with computers. But be careful that you don't end up conveying message that you were trouble-shooting networking and other motherboard stuff at that age.
