Your wife is in for one heck of a ride, let me tell you from personal experience. I am a writer of stories for young people. They are very good stories and I am the first one to pat myself on the back, along with others. Tell her to get an agent first, that is foremost. The publishers won't even open her manuscript without an agent's recommedation. I always assumed that good stories get published and that is NOT the case at all. It's all in who you know and how they represent you. Good luck.
