Finally have a very good, close girl friend with whom I really clic with and do "girl stuff...shopping, hanging out." But he can't/won't tell me the reason why he doesn't like her...it baffles me.

well you really have to find out why before you make any decisions. maybe they have something together before. that's why he doesn't want her around?

if he knows something about a dark past of your friend, then he should really tell you.

it's mysterious why he doesn't want to tell you. you're his wife. and i think you have a right to know why he doesn't like her.

(1)Maybe he feels left out and just plain old jealous of your new friend. You probably did alot of things with him and now she takes up the time you used to spend with him.
(2)Do they know each other from the past? Could she have dirt on him and he's trying to keep her from telling you by disapproving the friendship without reason?
(3)Is she single or does he think she's promiscuous and will get you into trouble? Maybe he's heard things about her and is trying to protect you from her reputation, if any.
For what ever reason it is he should tell you why he doesn't like her and try to respect your choice of friends.

He's your husband, she is a new friend. I suggest keeping her away from him or spending less time with her if you husband doesn't like her. Maybe he doesn't like you out spending money or he is jealous that you are giving her attention and not him? Anyway, he's the husband, she's a friend. That doesn't mean your husband should control you and choose your friends. I don't believe in that at all. But you have to respect his views to one degree or another.

maybe he finds her attractive and sexy and is afraid he might get things out of hand if he sees her regularly in the house (???)

or maybe its the spending he doesnt want?

he wil have to give his reason; listen to what he has to say and think about it. sometimes 3rd party opinion is much accurate than what we ever thoguht.

Oh well, can't please everyone. My husband doesn't like my best friend either, but that's HIS problem. We don't have to like all of the same things or people.
