You can tell what browser you're using by the icon.
Internet Explorer: Blue lowercase 'e'.
Orange Fox/Planet: Firefox
Large, uppercase 'N': Netscape

In the case of Internet Explorer (which I'm guessing that you're using), the SSL controls are in the Internet Options control panel (Start > Control Panel > Internet Options) under the Advanced tab, towards the bottom. Check the SSL boxes if they are unchecked.

If you have Firefox, you click on Tools in the menu bar, then select Options. Once there, click on the Advanced tab and you should see the same SSL boxes. Check these.

How are you even on the net if you dont know your browser? Go to the Help menu, and click on "about ... " You should get your details there.
