Having quite the fetish for legs, stockings, and pantyhose, it must seem like I'm crazy for saying that women should only do wear them if they choose to do so. However, there is a reason to my opinion. I am one of those fetishists who feel that fashion is all about freedom. One should have the choice. Besides, I am also well aware that wearing pantyhose and stockings is not every girls cup of tea. If one doesn't like wearing, they shouldn't have to. I'm glad to see that offices have done away with the nylon requirement, as there is nothing wrong with bare legs as long as you can pull it off. The nice part to all of this is now adays, women who are wearing pantyhose or stockings , so long as they have the freedom of choice, CHOOSE to do so, meaning that they LIKE to wear them. To me, that is even hotter. Agree with me? Disagree with me? Let's hear it!

I have never worked at a corporate office that did not have the nylon requirement. In fact, most have a hosiery dress code - no bare feet at all, even when wearing slacks with ballet flats.

Women who wear skirts without nylons do not look professional. Their legs never look as nice as they think. Cellulite, razor burn, spider veins and pale skin all deserve to be hidden. Besides, veiny feet are disgusting. When you are going to the office, you are not going out to get cosmos with the girls. If a woman does not want to wear nylons, wear pants.

What the hell are you talking about?

Wearing pantyhose/stockings IS 100% choice, so where's the arguement in the original statement/question?

Of course it should be a choice, but at the same time if it is a preferred dress-code of a business then that should not be a problem either. When I go to work I have to adhere to dress-code, and I knew that when I was hired. It's fair and square.

The fact is that most of the time pantyhose just serve to cover up imperfections in the legs - discoloration, hair, rough skin, and other problems. Personally, I don't think most stockings are very attractive, anymore so than that they do just that.

Thigh-highs though... I'm definatly a fan. That, however, is a different subject entirely.

Men have always liked women to be more proper, including the way she dresses. With stockings and/or pantyhose under a dress or skirt, it always looks a lot better than going bare legged. With pantyhose or stockings, it brings out the full potential of what the woman is wearing. Not only that, the pantyhose or stockings have the same effects as make up, as it does cover up those imperfections on her legs, such as scars, bruises, blemishes, uneven skin tone, redness and provides an even coverage on her legs.

Most women would prefer not to be required to wear pantyhose or stockings on the job. However, most women understand that certain jobs require a certain 'look' that includes nylons. the growth of 'Casual Fridays' shows that both men and women welcome the possibilities for less restrictive clothing rules, but often this is not really possible.

I think office attire should be the same for women as men, as long they are doing the same job. Male executives cannot walk around in sandals and bare feet, nor should women. Dress shoes look cheap or "Hollywood" when worn with bare legs, and it is a disgrace to all professional women when some put their personal comfort before the position. Bare legs are for casual gatherings , at home and the beach, or maybe if you chose to work in a convenience store. Not for the professional woman, competing with males for salary and position.

Freedom of fashion does not automatically give you the right to be unprofessional. Panty hoses are a requirement in places where more emphasis is given to the work you do rather than how sexy you look. These firms and offices do not employ people based on how fashionable they are, they employ people based on how good and professional they are at that job.
There are places where fashion plays a very important role and it is a whole different industry by itself.
I would rather be very conservative than try to expose my skin, just because it looks good.

I think in a professional environment, nylons should be required. I personally dont like wearing them, but they make a woman look very professional and I would never go to a job interview without wearing them.

And it is fair. Men almost always have to wear pants in a professional setting. Women can wear pants too. But women can get away with wearing a skirt as long as she is wearing nylons.

If we're not in Standard uniform (I work at a police station, but get to wear regular clothes on pay day) the girls HAVE to wear pantyhose or stockings. I agree that it should be choice, since I would much prefer going bear-legged. Stockings slip down, pantyhose are uncomfortable!

Bare legs are unacceptable in the professional office under any circumstances. It shows a lack of propriety and class. I personally believe that unless you are alone in the comfort of your own home/back yard/etc.you should wear nylons, not to is trashy.
