Did anything change with your network settings. Listen or watch for your hard drive light. Is it blinking the whole time that Windows is waiting to load? If so, then you have a Windows or hard drive issue.
If the hard drive doesn't seem like it's working that hard and sits idle for a good time during bootup, then your problem is probably network related. If something changed recently with the way you are connecting with the internet, try disabling your network altogether and reboot as a test. See if that was the problem.
For future reference since there's probably not much you can do now except waste hours or weeks of your time trying to fix it, I would look into a good backup program like Acronis TrueImage. Make frequent images of your hard drive. That way if something like this suddenly changes on you, all you have to do is reload from a recent image and you're back to where you left off in just minutes.

The more programs you have running at startup, the more devices you use, this all needs to be loaded when the computer boots. Over time this WILL add up. It is natural. Make sure your startup list is not loading programs that you really don't need. How much RAM do you have? Memory is the best thing to upgrade in this situation when all else fails.

It could be any number of things. It's possible you just installed something that took up more memory. Or your background takes eight years to load. Orrr, you have to much crap on it.

Sounds like too many programs in the startup cycle, or too many desktop icons, HD may also be low on memory.

You can try deleting temporary files and cookies, then defragmenting the files in hard drive.
